What to expect?

This People Business Partner role will be a new addition to our growing US Business Partner team. We are looking for a strategic and operationally-savvy Business Partner that can quickly build trust and serve as an advisor to our U.S. leaders across functions (Sales, Marketing, Product Development and G&A teams) on all People related topics. Your focus will be on manager enablement, optimizing performance, executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and working with business leaders to support a people strategy that is connected with the rest of Contentful, while uniquely ‘fit for purpose’ within each function. You will also have the opportunity to take ownership of projects that will shape our business going forward. 

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Principal, People Business Partner - US Lead.

What you need to be successful?

  • 5+ years of previous experience in a People Business Partner or related role at a growing technology company 
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate business goals into the highest impact priorities.
  • Effective communicator that knows how to make yourself easily understood and make others feel heard.
  • Ability to effectively manage the details as you work towards the bigger picture.
  • Excitement about ambiguity because it’s an opportunity to get creative and challenge assumptions. 
  • Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results
  • Hands-on builder that can creatively and innovatively solve people challenges.  
  • Knowledge of US employment laws and its practical application.
  • Proficiency with general office applications such as G-Suite, Workday, Culture Amp, Slack, Jira, and Confluence
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

How you will make an impact?

  • Provide coaching and guidance that will up-level people leader capabilities around managing performance on their teams to promote more autonomy and consistency.
  • Be a thought partner and trusted confidant for people leaders to problem solve, strategize, and make decisions about People related topics. 
  • Provide delivery support for our People programs including: employee engagement, performance, compensation, promotions, talent reviews, and culture building activities. 
  • Act as an employee champion and change agent, by keeping a pulse on what’s happening in the business and proactively communicating those needs with our People and business leadership teams.
  • Provide your Leadership teams with data and metrics on People topics that help to make informed decisions that enhance business performance. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across the People Teams to contribute and shape team projects.
  • Employee life cycle support such as Exit Interviews, People Changes, LOA’s and accommodations. 
  • Be a culture keeper and values leader + champion 

Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.

Colorado Salary Range: $106,000 - $113,000
[This position is eligible for equity awards in accordance with the terms of Contentful’s equity plans.]
